issue six of kim gee comics is here!!!
it’s the end of an era…or at least the end of long-form dating comics. that’s right, i’m taking a break from detailing my every romantic encounter. once this issue finishes posting in april i’m going to be drawing shorter stories and only writing long-form comics about the farthest topic from dating (more info coming soon!). issues one through six have been a labor of love, but here’s the thing about turning your life into stories: you really have to analyze it. and while that’s helped me grow it’s getting kind of exhausting. i want to do more living and less recording, more observations and less plot development.
so i present to you the last 26 pages of this format, all wrapped up with hand-painted covers and bound with string. you can pick up a copy at my online shop or the lush comics hd iPad app (updating later today), and copies are on their way to bluestockings, quimby’s, and desert island. i’ll also be at the feminist zine fest this saturday with fresh copies, so if you see me there feel free to say hi!
thanks to everyone for reading, even if i wrote about how you were bad in bed. no hard feelings, promise.

it feels good to be done.

oh! I had this guy for figure drawing! I was scrolling like “damn that’s familiar” and saw the name. Definitely you should check out what he’s done for that one mystery novel series- they’re A++
john jay will only call me harley, and it’s awesome.
haha and he will only call me apple! darn nicknames. (but a fantastic artist…)

i’m taking an advertising design class this semester, and while advertising isn’t really my jam (and the teacher is sort of insane) i’m making the most of it. for this project we took existing headlines and created new visuals.

Q:1 (three favorite movies), 5 (favorite quotations) and 14 (the drink you would order at a bar)! :)
1. ahh, this is hard. let’s go with eternal sunshine, 2 days in paris, and helvetica (nerd!).
5. “fortune favors the bold” is an old favorite, but lately i also like:
“My optimism comes from the belief that telling stories through drawing and painting will always find an audience. It started with the cave paintings and it’s not over yet. Stories have power. Personal stories are what link most of us together.” -Marshall Arisman
14. i like rum and cherry coke, boring but delicious!
