gouache on watercolor paper.
recent schoolwork!  we had to do a spot illustration for an article from the new yorker about ballerinas who practically flirt with the audience, and this is what i came up with.  it was a fun process; we had to come up with tons of concept thumbnails and then during the class critique we all helped each other pick the best idea.  then we had do a rough version, then the final.  it was nice to use gouache again since it’s been a while.  my teacher told me to make this into a valentines day card or something, but for some reason i don’t think there’s too big of a market for flirty ballerina cards.
